After having briefly illustrated the main geological, climatic and vegetational features of the upper Val Brembana, the authors propose a synthesis of the carabidological researches carried out so far in this area. A topographic catalog of the 143 species of Carabidae (including Cicindelinae) reported in this territory is presented, with notes about their ecology and chorology. Finally, the main carabidocenoses observed are described.
